Price or valuation line: does it change the number of shares?

On the passbook, a price or valuation line line reads: not a change in the number of shares

Do I report a change in share value?

Services Australia revalues listed shares itself on 20 March and 20 September each year using the latest prices it holds, and when you ask. A price movement is not on the list of events to notify; a change in the number of shares is.

Worked example

A price line put EXA at 13.10 a share on a holding of 1,200, on Wed 2 Sep 2026. Day 14 is Wed 16 Sep 2026, a working day, so the report-by date is Wed 16 Sep 2026 (national holidays only; set your state and its public holidays move it too). Only the value moved. Services Australia revalues listed shares on 20 March and 20 September, so this line is outside the checker's list.
