Holding removed by takeover or delisting: does it change the number of shares?

On the passbook, a holding removed by takeover or delisting line reads: holding changed: report or confirm

A holding removed by a takeover or delisting

The holding is gone, and the shares form's removal step asks for the date. Whether the event counts as a sale for the notification list is not settled by the pages read: confirm with Services Australia.

Worked example

A takeover compulsorily acquired the whole EXP holding of 800, on Mon 27 Jul 2026. Day 14 is Mon 10 Aug 2026, a working day, so the report-by date is Mon 10 Aug 2026 (national holidays only; set your state and its public holidays move it too). The pages read do not settle whether this counts as a sale, so it is a holding change to report or confirm, with the removal date the form asks for.
