The 14 days
An Age Pension recipient has 14 days to tell Services Australia about a change in their circumstances, including a change in their income and assets and in their financial investments.
The rule. Report a change in shares within 14 days. Named in the sources: a buy, a sale, bonus shares. Any other change to the total number of shares the form asks for: report or confirm. A price movement is not on the list; listed shares are revalued on 20 March and 20 September. Every rule and its source.
What it takes. Trade lines only: date, code, buy or sell, quantity. Recognised account and holder numbers are removed; nothing leaves your browser until you save.

What we rely on, in our words: Paraphrased: recipients generally have 14 days to notify a change in circumstances. The exceptions it lists include a 28-day period for certain recipients living overseas and for bereavement events, and 7 days after becoming aware of a compensation payment; a recipient who leaves Australia permanently or for at least 12 months moves from 14 to 28 days. Where a notification period ends on a weekend or a public holiday, it ends on the next working day after it. Last reviewed by its publisher: 12 May 2025.
