Share split or consolidation: does it change the number of shares?
On the passbook, a share split or consolidation line reads: holding changed: report or confirm
Share splits and the 14-day rule
A split or a consolidation changes the number of shares without a buy or a sale. The official pages read do not name it: the number changed, so report or confirm the new total with Services Australia.
Worked example
A 2 for 1 split on EXB was read as +650 shares, net, doubling 650 to 1,300, on Fri 14 Aug 2026. Day 14 is Fri 28 Aug 2026, a working day, so the report-by date is Fri 28 Aug 2026 (national holidays only; set your state and its public holidays move it too). The export might instead show the ratio alone, or a cancellation of 650 and a reissue of 1,300: each is read, shown as read, and held out of the total until ticked confirmed.
